There was a fatal truck accident Monday evening (April 25, 2016) on I-88 near Naperville.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP) the truck accident happened as a large box truck and semi were both traveling westbound on I-88. At approximately 5:45 p.m., as the trucks were near Naperville Road, traffic slowed and the box truck “rear-ended” the semi truck.

The driver of the truck, 25-year-old Daniel Garcia, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Garcia lived in southwest suburban Yorkville.
The driver of the semi truck was hurt, and he was taken to Edwards Hospital in Naperville for treatment of his accident injuries. Those injuries were considered to be “minor” in nature.

There was a motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon (April 21, 2016) in Bartlett in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured. As in many motorcycle accidents which aren’t the fault of the motorcyclist, this accident appears to be an example of a car attempting to make a left-hand turn immediately in front of an oncoming motorcycle.
According to Bartlett Police, the accident happened at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bartlett Road and Route 59.
At that time, a 20-year-old motorcyclist riding a Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Route 59 was struck by a southbound Ford Escape that was attempting to turn left onto eastbound West Bartlett Road.
The motorcyclist was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates for treatment of his accident injuries. Those injuries were considered to be “life-threatening” in nature.

The driver of the Ford Escape, Donald C. Dick, 89, of Bartlett, was ticketed for failure to yield, police said. He was treated and released from St. Alexius Medical Center. The crash remains under investigation.

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon (April 21, 2016) in Itasca. The accident happened in a construction zone on the Elgin-O’Hare Expressway, according to Itasca Police.
An excerpt from the Daily Herald article of April 21, 2016, titled “Motorcyclist dies in Itasca crash“:
The crash happened just after 4 p.m. at Thorndale and Park Boulevard in the construction zone of the Elgin-O’Hare Expressway, Itasca Lt. Rob Pokorny said. A second motorcyclist traveling with the driver wasn’t injured, he said.
The crash involved the motorcyclist, who was traveling with another motorcyclist, crashing into a landscaping truck and trailer.
The motorcyclist who was hurt was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his accident injuries, where he was pronounced dead.
