Woman Dies Following Vehicle Collision In Naperville

A woman died following a vehicle collision Sunday afternoon (June 26, 2016) in Naperville.  The accident happened on North Aurora Road near Route 59.

An excerpt from the June 29, 2016 Chicago Sun-Times article titled “76-year-old woman killed in Naperville crash“:

A silver 2004 Infiniti J35 was turning left from eastbound North Aurora Road onto Route 59 at 4:45 p.m. when it was hit by a silver 2009 Lexus RX350 that was traveling west on Aurora Road, according to Naperville Police.

The impact caused the Lexus to hit a bronze 1990 Mercedes 300D, which was stopped at a red light on southbound Route 59, police said.

A passenger in the Infiniti, identified as Frances Courtney, 76, of Aurora, was injured in the collision and taken to Edward Hospital for treatment of accident injuries which were described as being serious injuries.  She died on Sunday night.

The driver, 76-year-old James E. Courtney of Aurora, was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, improper turn, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
