There was a fatal accident Sunday (January 17, 2015) in Itasca. The accident happened in a construction zone on Interstate 290.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), the accident happened at 8:50 a.m. The driver of the car, a 2003 Honda, was driving on the ramp from Interstate 290 west to Thorndale Avenue when his car hit a semi trailer that was parked in a construction zone on the left shoulder.
The driver was identified as Daniel A. Bozowski, 30, of Elk Grove Village. He was pronounced dead at the accident scene, according to the Itasca Fire Protection District and the DuPage County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy conducted Monday determined that he died of multiple traumatic injuries, according to the coroner’s office.
The accident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
