Man Dies Following Pedestrian Accident In Naperville

A man has died following a pedestrian accident in Naperville on Wednesday (February 17, 2016) afternoon.

According to Naperville Police, a man was walking east across South Washington Street at East Bailey Road.  At approximately 1:20 p.m., he was struck by a northbound 2004 Lincoln LS.

The man was identified as Jeffrey Maxwell, 49, of Naperville.  He was taken to Edward Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries, which at that time were considered to be life-threatening in nature.  He later died at the hospital.

The driver of the Lincoln LS was identified as a 60-year-old Plainfield man.

It was not immediately known whether he was issued any charges or citations as the investigation is ongoing.
