West Chicago Two-Car Accident Injures Eight People

There was a two-car crash Friday (May 20, 2016) in West Chicago, in which eight people were injured.  The accident happened on Roosevelt Road at Town Road at approximately 11:13 a.m.

The accident involved a Hyundai and a Chevrolet Suburban.

An excerpt from the May 20, 2016 Daily Herald article titled “Roosevelt Road reopens after West Chicago crash injures 8“:

The Suburban was heading west on Roosevelt and the Hyundai was traveling south on Town when the two vehicles collided, West Chicago police Cmdr. Eric Shipman said. The department’s traffic safety unit still is investigating exactly how the crash occurred.

The driver of the Hyundai, a male, was pinned in his car and had to be extricated.  Both this driver and seven men in the Chevy Suburban were taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield for treatment of their accident injuries.  None of the accident injuries were considered to be “life-threatening” in nature.

Fire departments from a variety of local municipalities responded to the crash, including those from Winfield, Wheaton, Carol Stream, Batavia, St. Charles, Geneva, Warrenville and Naperville.
