Sgt. Robert Harris, of the DuPage County sheriff’s department said a 21-year-old female College of DuPage student was heading home from school around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday when she lost control of her car on Leask Lane, south of Butterfield Road, striking the man on his bicycle.

“He did have serious injuries, but none that were believed by the doctors at Central DuPage Hospital to be life-threatening,” Harris said. “She was cited for failure to reduce speed.”

A bicycle was hit by a car Thursday (May 17, 2018) in Elmhurst.

According to the Elmhurst Police Department, the collision involved a 10-year-old boy who was riding his bike at Bryan Street and Jackson Street.  At the time of the collision, the boy was riding northbound on Bryan Street and the car was traveling eastbound on Jackson Street.  Elmhurst Police were called at 4:56 p.m. alerting them that a bicycle was hit by a car.

The boy was injured during the collision and taken to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries.  Those injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.

There was a bicycle accident Tuesday (October 25, 2016) morning in Wheaton.  Details on the accident are somewhat limited, and the cause of the accident does not appear to be publicly disclosed at this time.

According to police, the accident happened at approximately 11:00 a.m., near the intersection of Naperville Road and Blanchard Circle.  The accident happened as a pickup truck heading north on Naperville Road struck a bicycle that was going east across the road.

There was no disclosure as to what injuries, if any, the bicyclist sustained during the accident.

Woman Dies Following Bicycle Accident In Hinsdale

There was a fatal DuPage County bicycle accident Monday morning (August 22, 2016) in Hinsdale.

Details on the accident appear to be limited at this time.  The cause of the accident does not appear to be publicly disclosed.

According to Hinsdale Police, the accident happened at approximately 7:30 a.m. Monday, at Oak Street and Ravine Road, which is pictured below:

At that time, there was a collision between a vehicle and bicyclist.

The bicyclist, identified as Pamela French, 55, of Clarendon Hills, was taken to Hinsdale Hospital for treatment of her accident injuries.  She later died from her accident injuries.

The crash investigation is ongoing.

Bicycle Accident In Glendale Heights

There was a bicycle accident Tuesday afternoon (January 12, 2016) in Glendale Heights.

According to Glendale Heights Police, the accident happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. on the 600 block of North Avenue.  According to the indications of a preliminary investigation, the collision happened when a westbound Toyota van, traveling on the shoulder, struck a bicyclist who was traveling eastbound on the shoulder.

The bicyclist, identified as a 29-year-old man from Glen Ellyn, suffered “severe injuries” in the accident and was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for treatment of his accident injuries.

There was a DuPage County bicycle accident Monday afternoon (March 16, 2015) in Naperville.

The accident involved a collision between a Chevrolet Express van and bicyclist at the intersection of 75th Street and Modaff Road at approximately 4:45 p.m.

The bicyclist, who reportedly was seriously injured during the accident, was taken to Edward Hospital for treatment of accident injuries.

Fatal Naperville Bicycle Accident

There was a fatal bicycling accident in Naperville, Illinois on Wednesday morning, September 25, 2013.

The accident happened near the intersection of Diehl Road and Freedom Drive.

The bicyclist was apparently riding to work at approximately 7:25 a.m., when she was struck by a pickup truck that was driven by a 35-year-old man from Aurora. According to police, the bicyclist was attempting to cross Diehl Road when she was struck.

The bicyclist was identified as Shwu-Wei Yeh, 56, of Naperville. She was taken to Edward Hospital, where she died from injuries sustained during the bicycling accident.

The accident remains under investigation.
