Fatal Route 25 Two-Car Collision In Bartlett, Illinois

There was a fatal car crash Saturday morning (April 1, 2017) on Route 25 in Bartlett.

According to Bartlett Police, the crash happened on Route 25, between Stearns Road and West Bartlett Road, at approximately 6:15 a.m.  At that time, a southbound 2002 Hyundai Sonata crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a 2015 Nissan Altima.

The driver of the Hyundai Sonata, identified as Oscar Soto Gallardo, 22, from Elgin, had to be extricated from his car.  He was pronounced dead at the accident scene.  At the time of the collision he was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Nissan Altima was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin for treatment of accident injuries.  Those car accident injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.

During the crash both cars sustained heavy front-end damage.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bartlett Police Department and the Major Case Assistance Team’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
