Fatal Darien Crash Involving Two Vehicles Leads To Death Of Driver

There was a fatal vehicle crash Friday evening (December 8, 2017) in Darien.  The accident resulted in the death of a woman from Lemont.

According to Darien Police, the accident occurred at the intersection of Clarendon Hills Rd. and 67th St. at approximately 5:47 p.m.

Details on the cause of the accident do not appear to be publicly available this time.

A woman involved in the accident, identified as Janina Petuchow, 52, of Lemont, died after being taken to Good Samaritan Hospital (Downers Grove) for treatment of her accident injuries.  She was the driver of one of the vehicles.

The other driver was not injured.

Darien Police are working with the Major Crash Reconstruction Team from the Felony Investigation Assistance Team (FIAT) to investigate the cause of the accident. It is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs were a factor, police said.
