Fatal Motorcycle Collision In Hanover Park, Illinois

There was a fatal motorcycle collision Wednesday night (February 22, 2017) in Hanover Park.

According to Hanover Park Police, the accident happened at approximately 6:30 p.m.  The accident happened as the motorcyclist was heading north on County Farm Road, and attempting to turn left (west) onto Lake Street, when the motorcycle hit a curb.  The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike after the collision.

The motorcyclist was identified as John W. Baske, 57, of Des Plaines.  He was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, then airlifted to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, for treatment of his accident injuries.  He died at Lutheran General Hospital.

DuPage County Accident Reconstruction authorities haven’t determined Baske’s speed before the crash or reasons he hit the curb, Johnson said. Baske had just turned left onto Lake Street from County Farm Road when he crashed, Johnson said.
