Fatal SUV Accident On Ogden Avenue In Lisle Involving Two Vehicles

There was a fatal SUV accident Tuesday (May 15, 2018) afternoon in Lisle.  The accident involved one car crossing the center line and colliding with another vehicle.

According to Lisle Police, the fatal car accident occurred in the 900 block of Ogden Avenue just before 1:45 p.m.  A 74-year-old man driving a Nissan Rogue westbound crossed the center line and collided with a black Acura that was traveling eastbound.

The driver of the Nissan Rogue, as well as two passengers, were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for treatment of serious accident injuries.  The driver later died there.

Two police officers were treated at Edward Hospital in Naperville after being exposed to blood after attending to the vehicle crash victims.

As seen in accident scene photos, both vehicles sustained serious damage during the collision, which is often the case in frontal and “head-on” collisions.

The FIAT (Felony Investigative Assistance Team) Major Crash Reconstruction Team was called to investigate the crash. Traffic was diverted from the scene for approximately three hours while emergency crews and the MCRT worked on scene.
