Motorcyclist Dies Following Accident In Aurora

There was a motorcycle accident in Aurora on Sunday (July 10, 2016) after which the motorcyclist died.  The accident involved a collision between a motorcycle and car.

The motorcyclist was identified as Juan J. Ortega, 34, of Montgomery.

An excerpt from the Daily Herald article of July 14, 2016, titled “Motorcycle rider dies after weekend crash in Aurora“:

Traffic Investigators said Ortega was riding a 2005 Suzuki GSX motorcycle north on Farnsworth when he tried to make a right turn into the Chicago Premium Outlets Mall. Instead, he turned in front of a 2007 Nissan Maxima driven by Daniel Sanchez-Hernandez, 33, of the 900 block of Pearl Street, Aurora.

Ortega’s motorcycle hit the front of the car.  He was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision, and he hit the car’s windshield before falling to the street.

Ortega suffered massive head injuries during the accident.  He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for treatment of his accident injuries.   He died Monday at 1:25 a.m.

He was not wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the accident.

Sanchez-Hernandez and three children in his car were not injured during the collision.

Another excerpt from the Daily Herald article mentioned above:

Sanchez-Hernandez was charged with improper lane use. There were no outward signs of drug or alcohol use at the scene.
