Crashes that involve one vehicle driving in the wrong direction typically lead to serious, if not life-threatening injuries to vehicle occupants. These collisions are often “head-on collisions” in which vehicle occupants are suddenly subject to very strong physical forces that are highly unnatural in nature. Such collisions are often unexpected and as such can be very difficult to avoid, especially if one vehicle suddenly crosses the center line.

The subject of “head-on collisions” and the injuries involved, as well as legal aspects is further discussed on the “DuPage County Accidents Involving ‘Head-On Collisions’” page.
