There was a Naperville truck accident that happened on Interstate 88 (I-88) Sunday (August 19, 2018) morning.
According to information provided by the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at approximately 10:46 a.m. near milepost 123. For a currently undetermined reason, a semi truck failed to slow down in time and “rear-ended” a 2009 Nissan.
A “chain-reaction crash” followed this Naperville truck accident, with the Nissan hitting a Lexus, which then hit a Chevrolet.
Among those injured because of the crash were the occupants of the Nissan. An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured and unresponsive at the accident scene, and received CPR from a nurse who had stopped to help at the accident. That boy was then taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for an emergency surgery and other treatment of his injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as a 50-year-old Montgomery man, and a 45-year-old female passenger were also injured and taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital for medical treatment.
