There was a five-vehicle wreck on the Tri-State Tollway in Oak Brook. The accident happened on Wednesday (December 21, 2016) at 5:31 a.m., according to the Illinois State Police (ISP).
Details on the wreck appear limited at this time. It is unclear as to what caused the collision or what party may be at fault.
One of the vehicles was a Cook County Sheriff’s squad car. The deputy in the car was injured in the crash, and taken to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
