Semi Truck And Car Collide Near Downers Grove Intersection

Accidents involving semi trucks often cause serious accident injuries.  Due to various factors, including the weight of these trucks, as well as their inability to stop quickly, truck accidents have the potential to cause a significant amount of damage to all vehicles involved in an accident.

There are many reasons why a truck accident can occur.  Semi trucks are prone to loss of control accidents due to high winds and other adverse weather conditions.  As well, if the truck is improperly loaded or overloaded, it can lead to a loss of control under certain circumstances.  Other reasons for a semi crash include faulty or defective truck parts, or trucks that are driving despite needing maintenance.

Other reasons for truck accidents involve truck driver error, as further seen on this page discussing reasons for truck accidents.

As well, there have been many Chicago-area accidents in which the truck driver has been drowsy or has fallen asleep while driving prior to a crash.
