Addison Single-Vehicle Rollover Accident Results In Fatal Injuries

A driver was killed in a single-vehicle rollover accident Sunday (July 8, 2018) on Interstate 290 (I-290) in DuPage County.

As discussed on the “DuPage County Vehicle Rollover Accidents” page, for many reasons this type of accident typically results in vehicle occupants sustaining serious injuries.  One reason for the severity of the injuries is that these accidents typically occur at higher speeds.

An excerpt regarding the accident, from the July 9, 2018 Daily Herald article titled “Chicago man killed in I-290 crash in DuPage County“:

Anthony Jarvis, 21, was killed when he lost control of his 2001 Ford in the westbound lanes at about 6:48 p.m. near Wood Dale Road, according to Illinois State Police. The vehicle rolled several times and came to a stop on top of the guard rail.

Jarvis was the sole occupant of the Ford at the time of the crash.  It is not disclosed as to what caused the apparent loss of vehicle control that led to the crash.

The accident closed all of the westbound lanes for a period of time.
